SINGAPORE is in the middle of a review and public consultation exercise conducted by the government on its proposed amendments to the Penal Code. A significant number of amendments are being proposed to the sections related to 'Sexual Offences'.
Many of the proposed amendments are progressive and in keeping with the Government's attempts to bring the Penal Code up to date. But there is one big sticking point - 'marital immunity'.
As the law now stands, a husband cannot be prosecuted for raping his wife: marital immunity exists for a man who engages in non-consensual sexual intercourse with his wife who is 13 years of age or above.
In 1996, the issue of criminalising non-consensual sex between spouses was raised as part of a public consultation exercise to amend the Women's Charter. The idea was rejected.
... what if.... your wife says..... "darling, don't bite....." or "..... harder!!!" but you do the opposite.... is it RAPE? 'coz its non-consesual sex.
or maybe, if THEY really wanna help the women, married couples and such.... they should put a law on "fore-play". Its illegal to have sex without 'foreplay'.... unless...... (lawmakers can spend time looking for reasons, just to make it more exciting and worthy of talking about it during Parliament.)
and.... what if the husband is the victim?.... what are our rights.....??!
somewhere, someday, somehow, a husband came back moody from a long day in the office. As he walked in, the wifey pulled him to the bed, tie him up to the headboard and start whipping endlessly..... (he's not the victim yet). later on they made rough, sadomastic love. Wifey riding like she's on a bull-with-a-single-horn.... biting all over as the husband lay helpless tied to the bed. Love sweat dripping down their body, while both gasping for air....
Just as the husband was about to....... wifey back-off and went to the loo...
(NOW THAT'S BEING A VICTIM!!!), especially when still being tied to the bed.
husband: "....err.... excuse me officer, I wanna report a rape." :(
police officer: "congratulations!! at least you gettin' some....."
