RANTS, COMPLAINS AND DISGRUNTILISM
1. Last Thursday was Valentine's day. One of my outlet, which is a quiet, chillout joint, had a good turnout of 'lovebirds' and couples who celebrated the 'auspicious' day. The evening was cool, relaxing and passionate. Unfortunately, some 'very intelligent' person had scheduled for the Lunar New Year lion dance visit at 9.30pm, when there were lots of people there to enjoy the serenity of the outlet. QUESTION: Why can't schedule the lion dance performance at 7.30pm, like other past years? The CNY lion dance visit is for the prosperity of the outlet. That night, it chased away all the couples and some other patrons. Which part of prosperity did YOU don't understand??
2. Recently, the taxi prices was increased. It was to encourage more taxis to take the roads especially during peak hours. Commuters like me would complain and complain (in our dreams). The first week showed sign of improvement as we saw more taxis. Unfortunately, as of last week, there were not much taxis to be seen, especially at night. Wonder why??? ANSWER: Taxi drivers made enough money since the price hike that they don't need to drive as much any more. At 11pm last Thursday, I saw 365 empty taxis, refusing to stop.
Who's move is it now???!! The government? Taxi authorities? What happens if we have videos and pics of taxis that doesn't stop? Will it help?
3. Channel NewsAsia recently launched a programme called BlogTV. It is to showcase indifferent bloggers and its contents. They claimed some of the best news/stories come from bloggers as most of these bloggers view situations indifferently. Knowing that, I would be one of those people who would take this opportunity as a step to 'global recognition'...... on second thought...... Nah.....!! It'll never happen. Be reminded, we're in Singapore. There's no such thing as 'free speech' or 'speak your mind'. For all I know, its just a ploy to catch those who 'bitch' about the government or think that their smarter than the "you know who......"
4. In the news yesterday, a man was made to marry his girlfriend when she got pregnant. many years later, it was found that the child doesn't belong to him. No Shit!! Apparently, the mother of the child knew that the man she married was not the father. Why did the women did that???
Maybe she knows that the real father can't give a good future? Maybe it was her ploy to trap the other man?? Maybe the father of the child was UGLY??! Maybe.....
Sometimes when you read such stories, you'd ask yourself if these things really happen? Or why women does such things? Why do some good men fall into such tricks..... Here are some 'weird' stories that I've heard......
a. A women told her boyfriend that she was 2 months pregnant, when the last time they had sex was 4 months before, and their last meeting/kiss was 3 months before. Being a gentleman, the boyfriend decided to take responsibility of the baby and the girlfriend. Unfortunately, the girlfriend doesn't want the 'father' of the child to be present during check-ups or even meet with parents...... what she needed was only.....MONEY. hmmmmm......... something's amiss.... and she can't even produce receipts for the check-ups. Obviously, 'miracle' happen when the baby suddenly disappeared and the girlfriend looked as FINE as ever.............
b. (This is a short one...)
I know of a couple who dated for a few months. The girlfriend eventually 'woke up' one day and told the boyfriend that she has breast cancer and wanted their relationship to end. Reason was she doesn't want to burden the boyfriend with her troubles. The boyfriend offered to help but was turned down, except for a 'small' amount of cash. Later on, we found out that the girlfriend went back to the previous boyfriend.
Guys, don't laugh. The next girl you know may be like that. Ladies, you're not spared also. Some people will go thru all the trouble in hopes of gaining some an extra dollar. Desperation will drive a person into doing such actions.
