I have a problem with this........
Sometime ago, we were screwed for having our Macbooks in the bar. Nobody asked what we were doing..... if it was even work-related. The questions posed was, "You think this is Apple store...?!"
Fine! We respect you and your policies, we'll keep our Macbooks, and not have them seen again in the bar.
So..... now what? For 3 straight days, these crappy laptop was seen in the bar from morning till the evening. It was moved later in the evening to the DJ console, taking valuable space where we keep our records, CD bags and other work-related stuff. No bloody respect for other people's space and even their own policies.
What's worst is that, they deny our Macbooks the freedom of space and prefer crappy shit laptops with irritating blue lights...... to 'beautify' the bar. If that's not enough, since when does playing Warcraft is 'work-related'..... Facebook games applications are also work-related? Is it fair to make the S-Pass staff do all the 'dirty' jobs while you sit down and talk on MSN? Then, when the managers come, take all the credits that the work was done by only 'herself'........
That's what happens when staffs are promoted for the lenght of service or for the sake of them not leaving, and not for their performance. Some are promoted to be the 'eyes' of others so that they don't lose out on informations or gossips.
Sometimes, we can have the best concepts for a bar, the finest liquors and wines, high-end equipments, good music and even award-winning bartenders, but if they main core of people can't even respect each other or even try working with each other, nothing will ever work. Nothing!
But then again, who am I to comment on all these. There are others who claims to know everything all the time. Others who claims being leaders in the industry, the best, the most experienced, the ......... Recognition is a marked of respect and well-liked. Self-recognition is totally a different ball....... I don't think its a good one.........
